Durban: South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis has pulled out of the tour to Bangladesh due to an illness to a family member.
Confirming Kallis' withdrawal, United Cricket Board of South Africa CEO Gerald Majola said, "Our thoughts are with Jacques at this difficult time and we wish him well. Should his circumstances allow it and he wishes to join up with the team later in the tour, he will be welcome to do so. " He said the national selectors have not yet named a replacement for Kallis. The South African team, led by new captain Graeme Smith, will play two Tests against Bangladesh and also compete in a tri-nation One-day tournament involving World Cup finalist India as the third team. The team was given special permission by the South African Department of Foreign Affairs to travel to Bangladesh after guarantees were given about the team's security.
