Chennai: Newly appointed Indian vice-captain Virender Sehwag on Tuesday said he has to be more "responsible" and sounded optimistic about his team's chances of winning the tri-nation cricket series at Dhaka.
Asked how it felt to be appointed vice-captain of the Indian team that would play in the triangular series involving Bangladesh and South Africa, Sehwag said "it means that I will have to be more responsible". "The team has a good chance to win the tournament," the dashing batsman said. Being a brand ambassador for a health drink product, Sehwag refused to interact with the waiting media persons but answered just three questions put to him through an executive of an advertisement agency. On the failure to win the World Cup, he said, "The team played well but we had a bad day in the final." Earlier, Sehwag distributed trophies and certificates to the regional winners of a cricket tournament for schools in South India. Later, Sehwag left for Kolkata to join the other Indian squad members who are already there. The Indian team is likely to leave for Dhaka from Kolkata on Wednesday.
