Ahmedabad: Rahul Dravid and Ramesh consolidated India's position by taking India to 93 for one at lunch on the opening day of the third test match between India and New Zealand being played at the Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium, Motera, here today.

The Indians suffered an early blow when they lost opener Devang Gandhi for just six runs, with the team score on 20. Gandhi lived a charmed life being dropped at third slip by Matt Horne off the bowling of Cairns with the team total at 16.

Dravid, who came to join Ramesh who was already stroking the ball freely, took some time to get his bearings right and opened his account after 16 balls.
