Johannesburg: Shaun Pollock captured two of the last three England wickets as South Africa wrapped up victory in the first test by an innings and 21 runs today.

England, 188 for seven overnight after trailing on first innings by 281, were dismissed for 260, the first time South Africa had beaten England by an innings in their test cricket history.

Paceman Pollock took two for 12 to seal success, bowling Andy Caddick for a brave 48, his highest test score, and then having last man Alan Mullally caught in the slips without scoring.
