London: England's cricketers, skittled to an innings defeat in the first test against South Africa yesterday, faced another barrage from today's newspapers.
The Sun gave the beleaguered team 51 days to save England from total humiliation, but warned, "The potential for pain and suffering before then (the end of the fifth test) is virtually limitless." England suffered defeat by an innings and 21 runs early on the fourth day of the first test yesterday.
Hussain, England's fourth captain in seven years, said: "It's character-building and we must learn from it...I'd be very disappointed if (the team) let their heads drop after three days like this. I certainly won't. I'll make sure they remain positive and upbeat."
