Allan Border Field is the home of the Australian Cricket Academy, and also the Cricket division of the Queensland Academy of Sport. It played host to many Pura Cup games whilst the Gabba underwent redevelopment. The ground has also hosted tour matches against South Africa, Bangladesh and India in the past few years, while still maintaining the family-friendly atmosphere. A white picket fence runs around the boundary, and grassy banks combined with a small stand provide a pleasant environment to watch cricket.
Once batsmen get settled the runs flow, however early on there is movement for the seamers. Combined with a reasonable outfield it is definitely not a batsman's worst nightmare.
