The Barabati Stadium is known more as an ODI ground, although it has hosted a couple of Test matches, the last of which was badly affected by rain. There have been nine ODIs played here, seven involving India. They have had good success at Cuttack, with five wins. The ground is a sort of a nightmare though, especially for the visitors, who have to travel more than an hour through traffic to reach from Bhubaneshwar, as there aren't quality accomodations available in Cuttack itself.

It Happened Here:
Dilip Vengsarkar made his highest Test score (166) here, in 1987, against Sri Lanka, on a wicket which was underprepared, and produced unpredictable bounce.Kapil Dev claimed his 300th Test victim, bowling Rumesh Ratnayake with a ball that failed to sit up, in the same match. He went on to become the highest wicket-taker in Tests at one stage.
