On the 9th of March 2000, Colonial Stadium was officially opened and was the first stadium in Australia with a retractable roof. In 2002 it was renamed to Telstra Dome after the largest telecommunications company in Australia purchased the naming rights. It is primarily an AFL ground, and was also used during the 2003 Rugby World Cup.
It has many state of the art features, such as a retractable roof which takes 8 minutes to fully open/close and moveable seating depending on the event.
The ground has hosted 11 ODI's overall including the 3 game ODI Super Series between Australia and the ICC World XI in 2005.
