The City Oval is the home of the Nashua Dolphins, and has provided a good setting for cricket, with an old-world charm about the place, despite not being particularly large.

It has been a popular venue in the past, but not for Bangladesh players - they were thrashed by 10 wickets by Sri Lanka in the only ODI to be played there, during the 2003 World Cup. This was after being bowled out for 51 by a South African Invitational XI in 2000, and losing by 10 wickets in that game also - this tour game was one of many to have been played there in the past. South Africa's A side are regular users of the ground for their home fixtures.
