Mumbai: Hyderabad were 251 for seven in their second innings in the Ranji Trophy final against Mumbai at the end of the fourth day of play on Saturday. To win, they now face the stupendous task of scoring 341 runs, with just three wickets in hand.

Hyderabad had a glimmer of hope when VVS Laxman made his eighth century of the season. Both left arm spin of Rajesh Pawar and seam bowler Ajit Agarkar came in for punishment from the elegant Laxman. Laxman holed out to Ashu Dani soon after completing his ton.

Azharuddin did not come in till the fifth wicket fell since he had been off the field a little too long in Mumbai's second innings on Friday.

Mumbai soon bounced back from Laxman's blows.

Ajit Agarkar (3-46) showed some top class bowling in the post-tea session, and swung the match back for Mumbai. Rajesh Pawar extended good support to Agarkar and claimed 4 of Hyderabad's weak middle order wickets.
