AVJ to officiate in South Africa Test

Johannesburg: The International Cricket Council (ICC) have nominated an Indian and two Pakstanis in the team of umpires and referees for the Test and One-day international series between South Africa and New Zealand. Former Pakistan Test player Talat Ali will referee the six-match One-day International series between the two teams, which started here on Friday and will continue until November 4.

The ICC umpires will be Arani Velayudham Jayaprakash (AVJ) from India in the first Test at Bloemfontein that is to be played from November 17 to 21, Ian Robinson of Zimbabwe in the second Test at Port Elizabeth from November 30 to December 4 and George Sharp of England in the Third Test at Johannesburg from December 8 to 12. Naushad Ali of Pakstan will referee the Test series, which will follow the One-day series.India Abroad News Service
