Melbourne: Shane Warne said on Friday he hoped to recover from a broken finger in time for the fourth Test against the West Indies on December 26 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.Warne, 31, Australia's leading wicket-taker with 366 Test wickets, broke a finger on his right hand in a match on when he juggled a straight-forward chance at slip.He immediately left the field - where he was playing for Victoria against New South Wales in Melbourne - and officials said later Warne would miss the first Test, which starts on November 23 in Brisbane, the second Test at Perth from December 1 and the third in Adelaide from December 15.''In the first 10 years of my sporting career, I never had any injuries,'' Warne told reporters. ''But I've had a lot of setbacks with injuries in the last three or four years. However, I've just got to keep positive and hopefully I'll be right in six to eight weeks,'' he said.Warne added he was likely to have surgery on Saturday to repair the top knuckle on his ring finger, the spinning finger on his bowling hand.In recent years he has had shoulder and finger surgery and after returning from a season with English county team Hampshire had minor knee surgery causing him to miss Australia's tour to Kenya this month. In August, Australian selectors stripped Warne of the vice-captaincy when he admitted having telephone sex with a British nurse.(c) Reuters Limited.
