Mumbai: Australian Geoff Marsh, a strong candidate for the post of Indian cricket coach, is confident of making Indian cricketers as strong as a nail. "Lack of it may be the reason letting them down like it happened in Sharjah on Sunday," the burly Australian said on Monday.Marsh arrived on Monday and was preparing to leave for the interview when some reporters caught up with him to find out why he changed his mind after withdrawing from the race that he was in along with Greg Chappell and John Wright.Marsh, probably one of the very few shy Australians, said Indian cricketers are winning purely on talent which cannot make them consistent. The Australians and South Africans are coached to be very tough on the field and that will be one of his main concerns if he gets the assignment, he added. He also said that there should be a right balance of fitness in gym and also on the field for this some method and science is needed. He said he left the coaching job of the world's best team, Australia, just after they won the London World Cup because he felt the game was eating away his family life. But the more he thought of Indian cricket, the more he realised that cricket was in his blood and it was gushing in India, he said. "The passion here is totally different and it is the same in rich and poor which makes a tremendous challenge. If permitted I am prepared to take it," he concluded. UNI
