Vijayawada: Kerala, with a fine blend of youth and experience, hold the edge against Andhra as the two teams cross swords in their season opener of the South Zone Ranji league tie, which begins at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium on Wednesday.

"We have recorded an outright win against Andhra at Kozhikode last year and wish to continue the same," Kerala team manager R Radhakrishnan told UNI

However, Andhra led by dashing opening batsman Amit Pathak will hope to match Kerala this time around. Sixteen-year-old Y Gnaneswara Rao will make his debut for Andhra. But the team is devoid of the services of former Indian wicket-keeper M S K Prasad, who is injured.
