London: International Cricket Council investigators are to visit India later this week to follow up allegations of corruption made in an Indian report into match-fixing, the ICC said. The sport's world ruling body on Wednesday said members of its anti-corruption unit, headed by former London police chief Paul Condon, would ''liaise closely with the Indian authorities on the content of the report''.The report by India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) named nine former international captains, including England's Alec Stewart and West Indies' Brian Lara, among prominent cricketers accused of links of one sort or another with bookmakers.Among the most serious allegations are those against former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin, accused of taking money to fix matches.''The Anti-Corruption Unit has a mandate to instigate further investigations into these allegations and is working closely with the CBI and ICC member Boards to carry out this task,'' Condon was quoted as saying in a statement.Condon, a former Metropolitan Police chief appointed by the ICC in June, had said earlier, ''my view is people are innocent till proven guilty and natural justice demands at least a brief time to assess what further inquiries can be made. ''Initially we have to read and study the report and see what corroborating factors there are and if after due process it is found that there is a case to answer it will proceed from there.''
