Chandigarh: Yuvraj Singh's father Yograj Singh against whom an arrest warrant was issued after the alleged recovery of adulterated petrol from his petrol pump, surrendered before a court on Wednesday, November 1. He was remanded to police custody. A case of cheating was registered against the former Test cricketer-turned-Punjabi film actor on June 30 after several vehicles of the Punjab government complained of jamming of engines, police said. Chandigarh police claimed to have recovered 22 drums of adulterated petrol from his farmhouse, a charge denied by Yograj. Yograj had absconded immediately after the recovery of the "petrol" following which the local court had issued an arrest warrant against him. His surrender followed initiation of proceedings to declare Singh a proclaimed offender if he did not appear before the court before November 10.
