Scribes thwart Jadeja from Sainiks wrath

New Delhi: A group of slogan-shouting Shiv Sena activists on Saturday barged into the premises of Indian Women's Press Corps (IWPC) while Ajay Jadeja was addressing a press conference in connection with the match-fixing scandal. But their attempt to disrupt the proceedings was foiled by the journalists. No sooner than the press conference had started this afternoon with Ajay Jadeja, who is among five cricketers named in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) report on match-fixing scandal, giving his clarification on the issue that a group of Shiv Sainiks entered the IWPC premisesshouting slogans against the cricketer. They were carrying eggs tothrow at the cricketer.But a large number of journalists attending the press conference reacted swiftly driving away the Shiv Sainiks even before police could arrive at the premises.Later, Jadeja continued with the press conference pleading innocence in the match-fixing scandal. Besides Jadeja, the other cricketers named in the CBI report are former captain Mohammad Azharuddin, Manoj Prabhakar, Nayan Mongia and Ajay Sharma.Jadeja is the first among them to come out in public with his side of the story since the CBI report was made public by Sports Minister S S Dhindsa a couple of days ago.
