The NCA boys, especially S Sriram, N Patel and R Sodhi, once again reminded selectors of their talent, rescuing the side from a precarious 82 for four.S Sriram after playing a fine innings was unlucky to miss his well deserved century, giving a return catch to leg spinner Paul Strang when three short of the mark. Sriram, who opened the innings, mixed caution with aggression treating the bowling on merit. With the ball coming on to the bat slowly, he was prepared to wait for the bad ball.NCA started at their overnight score of 28 for one and immediately lost night watchman Sarandeep Singh who got an inside edge to an incoming ball from Friend for Andy Flower to complete the job behind the stumps. A lot was expected from Mohammed Kaif, who however disappointed getting out without opening the account, as he was foxed by Strang. At this stage, it looked like NCA would fold up quickly, but S Sriram along with Neeraj Patel showed that youngsters are made of sterner stuff and slowly took the team out of the woods. UNI
