Close on the heels of the "senior" players' revolt against coach Miandad comes news that Miandad has now "opted out" of the national selection committee.With controversy hitting his new Faisal Iqbal, Miandad is reported to have decided to quit as a co-opted member of Pakistan's selection committee. The former Pakistan captain, who has been in and out of the team even as a coach, said that his role would now be confined to what needs to be done after the team had been selected.He said that he would support the captain and work out strategies. The captain could have the players that he wanted to in the team. He also added that he did not want to be accused of promoting individuals. Miandad also said that he had conveyed his decision to selection committee chairman Wasim Bari.He said that he would follow a clear cut plan of guiding the players and working out a game plan. He did not want to cross the limits of his boundary, he claimed.
