Cape Town: The King Commission of Inquiry into match-fixing and corruption in South African cricket will resume on January 25. A statement was issued by Judge Edwin King on Monday after weeks of speculation about the future of the Commission, and three postponements. The King Commission held public hearings in June following allegations of match-fixing against former South African captain Hansie Cronje.Chief prosecutor for the commission, Shamila Batohi, has been collecting evidence to prepare a list of witnesses for the forthcoming hearings which are expected to last about 10 days.Cronje admitted to taking nearly $ 100,000 in his testimony to the King Commission and has subsequently been banned for life by the United Cricket Board of South Africa. He denied match-fixing. (c) Reuters Limited. Click here for Restrictions
