Faridabad: Board President's XI openers Vijay Dahiya (26) and Ravneet Ricky (23) took advantage of an ordinary Zimbabwe bowling to score 52 runs in 21 overs to boast an overall lead of 120 runs in their second innings of the three-day tie at Nahar Singh Stadium on Tuesday.Half and hour after the lunch break, Zimbabwean captian Guy Whittall surprised everybody by declaring the first innings at 236 for five conceding a deficit of 63 runs and allowing Board President's XI to play 21 overs. Zimbabwe medium pacers Henry Olongla and Mluleki Nkala opened the bowling but could not get much out of the placid wicket. Though thePresident's XI openers were severe on Olganga and scored 29 runs from his first three overs, Nkala and Travis Friend restricted the run flow by maintaining a good line and length.Whittall, who tried five bowlers, introduced spin in the last three overs, but without any success. He, however, did not introduce star spinner Paul Strang.Earlier Whittall and Brian Murphy remained not out on 30 and 14 respectively as Zimbabwe declared their innings. Openers Grant Flower and Gavin Rennie scored 95 runs for the opening partnership. Rennie went on to score 79 and was the fourth to be out. UNI
