Kotak to lead Saurashtra in Ranji Trophy

Rajkot: Saurashtra's middle order batsman (who also opens the innings in limited overs matches), Sitanshu Kotak will lead Saurashtra in the Ranji trophy and limited overs matches this season. This was announced by the Saurashtra selection committee chairman Niranjan Shah.Saurashtra take on Gujarat in the first limited overs match at Baroda on November 17 followed by the match against host Baroda the very next day. Saurashtra will meet Mumbai on the Nov 20 and Maharashtra on Nov 21.This is for the first time that all the One-day matches of the Zone will be played at one centre only and Baroda Cricket Association decided to host the matches. Saurashtra have an outstanding record in limited overs cricket matches after Mumbai. In fact ever since the introduction of one-day matches, Saurashtra have finished as the second best. In fact Mumbai won the number one spot twice on better run-rate.The team: Sitanshu Kotak (captain), Prakash Bhatt (vice-captain), Sudhir Tanna, Firoz Bambhania, Harendra Jani, Hitesh Parsana, Niraj Odedara, Rakesh Dhruv, Manoj Parmar (wicket-keeper), Satyen Joshi, Rajesh Garsondiya, Sudeep Mehta, Pratik Mehta, Kamal Chavda and Kanaiya Vaghela.
