Belgaum: The South Zone Ranji Trophy league match between Andhra and Karnataka at the Union Gymkhana ground was turning out into a low-scoring affair. Karnataka, after restricting Andhra to 195 in the first innings, were struggling at 90 for four at the draw of stumps on Wednesday.

Andhra, taking first strike, were bundled out for 195 with the wickets being shared by the Karnataka medium pacers and spinners. Right-arm medium pacer Mansoor Ali Khan and left-arm spinner Santosh Vadeyaraj returned with three-wicket hauls each.

Medium pacer Dodda Ganesh and off-spinner Anand Yalvigi shared the remaining four wickets by claiming two wickets apiece. Y V Rao top scored for Andhra on 42 from 88 balls with nine hits to the fence.

The Karnataka innings did not get off to an expected start and the hosts kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Wicket-keeper, batsman V S Thilak Naidu was unbeaten on 25 and had the support of all-rounder B Akhil (5). A lot will depend on these two youngsters for Karnataka to take command of the match on Thursday. Medium pacer Sahabuddin had claimed three wickets for Andhra.
