Karnataka concede 1st innings lead to Andhra

Belgaum: Andhra Pradesh were 189 for eight in their second innings after securing a first innings lead of 56 runs against Karnataka in a South Zone Ranji Trophy league match at Union Gymkhana ground on Thursday.After bundling out the hosts for a paltry 139 in the first innings, Andhra lads L N Prasad Reddy and Y Venugopal Rao piled up 135 runs for the third wicket in 165 minutes facing 241 balls. Earlier, Skipper Amit Pathak (8) and Y Gyaneshwar Rao (5) were sent back to the pavilion quickly by Mansoor Ali Khan, both were caught by Arun Kumar.The third wicket partnership was broken by Santosh Vadeyaraj, who claimed both wickets of L N Prasad Reddy (55, 6x4) and Y Venugopal Rao (82, 13x4 and 1x6).Andhra lost wickets in quick succession thereafter with Dodda Ganesh claiming three victims.
