Melbourne: West Indies cricket captain Jimmy Adams conceded his team had little chance of beating Australia in next week's first Test unless they made a dramatic improvement after Sunday's heavy defeat by Victoria. The Australian state secured victory by an innings and 63 runs on the third day of their scheduled four-day match after the tourists collapsed to 114 all out in their second innings.''It's not getting to be a bad habit - it already is a bad habit,'' Adams said. ''It's stuff we know. We're not talking about fellows who are green - we've been around the track before and it's just not happening.''Adams said his players, who were also thrashed by Western Australia a week ago, needed to review the way they approached the game if they wanted to compete with the Australians.''The bottom line is that we're just not batting as well as we're capable of batting and we have five days to sort it out,'' Adams said. ''Some work has to be done within. We have to reinforce the fact that the players here are good quality players. We have to repeat to them you're here because you're good enough,'' he added.Victoria, starting the day at 304 for three, declared their first innings at 344 for seven and then clinically set about destroying the visiting team's batting order.West Indies fast bowler Courtney Walsh picked up all four wickets on Sunday to finish with four for 66 only to see his good work undone by the batsmen.
