Lahore: England pace bowler Dominic Cork is to fly home from Pakistan after failing to recover from the back injury that kept him out of the first Test, team officials said on Tuesday.Cork, 31, who has struggled with injuries throughout his career, suffered a recurrence of a lower back strain before the first Test in Lahore last week and has failed to make any progress since then. "Cork will fly back tonight (Tuesday) as he has not recovered and the management has not asked for any replacement," the team's media relations manager Andrew Walpole said. England physiotherapist Dean Conway meanwhile expressed optimism about progress of batsman Michael Vaughan, who suffered a calf injury last week and missed the first Test, which was drawn.England had called Andrew Flintoff as replacement last week, who will stay on tour despite suffering a blow on the nose in the nets last week. The second Test starts at Faisalabad on November 29.Cork said he was dismayed but would do his best to recover from the back trouble in time for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour."It's highly disappointing and not nice to leave the trip early but my back trouble has not healed and I have to fly back home. It's a decision made by the management and myself," Cork told reporters."I will see a specialist to recover and will want to recover to go to Sri Lanka." AFP
