New Delhi: The officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are still entertaining hopes that India's proposed tour of Pakistan will still come through. It may be recalled that the Union government had refused permission for the tour scheduled to commence next month in the light of the tense political atmosphere between the two countries.According to Board sources, the BCCI president Dr A S Muthiah has stated in Sharjah that he hoped to meet external affairs minister Jaswant Singh in order to convince him of the government's need to clear the tour.Dr Muthiah, the sources said, had stated that former BCCI president Raj Singh Dungarpur was very positive about a government response and he would pursue the matter. Dr Muthiah is in Sharjah with regard to the Asian Cricket Council meeting. At the same time, he added that the BCCI would abide by the decision of the government. It would be left to the International Cricket Council to respond to the situation as the BCCI would do their best efforts to get the tour going.
