New Delhi: Ninety-five per cent of Indian respondents in a BBC World survey hold that Indian cricket is bedevilled with corruption, with 66 per cent of them demanding a lifetime ban for those who have disgraced the Gentleman's Game.A further 26 per cent of the respondents have gone to the extent of seeking public humiliation for the culprits for sullying the popular game.Called Horizon 2000, the 'groundbreaking' survey provides the most detailed insight into the attitudes of India's leading consumers and decision-makers, covering everything from their views on corruption in cricket to their investment habits, from their use of Internet and mobile telephony to their television viewing habits.Cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar, however, emerges as the most envied person with 14 per cent of the respondents nurturing a wish to be in his shoes.Forty-two per cent of those who were surveyed said they had a computer at home and 25 per cent of them used it to access the Internet, compared to 27 per cent who did so from their office computer. The survey results will be presented by BBC World, Starcom and ORG-MARG at a series of events in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, aimedat advertisers, advertising agencies and media planners and buyers.UNI
