New Delhi: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president A C Muthiah on Saturday said there was no political pressure on the Board to let off the cricketers tainted with charges of match-fixing and links with bookmakers and stressed the guilty would be punished.''There is absolutely no political pressure,'' Muthiah told 'Aaj Ki Baat' after attending Prime Minister's Council on Trade and Industry. The BCCI president said,'' They (the players) are going and meeting (political leaders), but that does not mean anything.'' He said deterrent punishment would be given to the guilty. ''The guilty will be punished, the innocent let off. I think it will be a big stopper. The boys will fear that they should not indulge in such activity.'' Muthiah said the Board was formulating the penalties and these were expected to be announced on Tuesday. ''The disciplinary committee has made all the responses. We are just formulating the penalties and most probably by Tuesday we will do it.'' UNI
