They notched up their third consecutive victory by an impressive margin when they recorded a 10-wicket triumph over Ireland in a Women's World Cup 2000 league match at the Hagley Oval on Sunday.Ireland captain Miriam Grealey won the toss and elected to bat. The Irish batsmen never got going and it was a regular procession to and from the pavilion as wickets kept tumbling. Ireland were bundled out for 90 in 49.3 overs with Zoe Goss returning a four-wicket haul. Zoe Goss had a flattering analysis of 9.3 overs, three maidens, 10 runs and four wickets.Australia, in reply, romped home to 91 for no loss in 20.5 overs with openers Lisa Keightley and skipper Belinda Clark scoring at will. Lisa top scored on 49 runs off 71 balls with five fours, while Belinda remained unbeaten on 40 runs from 52 balls with three hits to the fence.
