Kanpur: Despite the shadow of the match-fixing scandal, the fourth Pepsi Cup Series One-day International cricket match between India and Zimbabwe at the Green Park Stadium here on December 11 is likely to be a profit earner.Expressing optimism at a press conference here on Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) Secretary Jyoti Bajpai said the scandal was unlikely to affect attendance at the stadium. It was evident from the Test matches and couple of One-dayers already played between India and Zimbabwe that the issue would not affect cricket's prospects. Welcoming the Board of Control for Cricket in India's decision of punishing tainted players former skipper Mohammad Azharuddin, Ajay Sharma, Manoj Prabhakar and Ajay Jadeja; the UPCA secretary, who also holds the post of joint secretary in the Board, said the BCCI's action would help wash away the blot the game had sustained as a result of the scandal. On the economic prospects of the match, Bajpai said the UPCA had been earning profits from Test matches and One-dayers held here during the past about eight years. The Association earned a net profit of about Rs 22 lakh in the last match, an international Test Engagement, played here last year. UNI
