Karachi: Pakistani pace bowler Wasim Akram said on Friday that he will play a benefit match to honour Australian wicket-keeper Ian Healy on December 21 in Brisbane.

"I have always admired Healy's cricketing abilities and besides that he is the gentleman of Australian cricket so it will be worth a visit," Akram told AFP. Healy was one of the game's greatest glove wielders with 395 victims in 119 Tests.

Akram will play under West Indian great Vivian Richards in a Rest of the World XI against an Australian XI. Renowned stars of the past and present will take part in the match.
