Yuvraj named junior cricketer of the year

Mumbai: Yuvraj Singh, Indian team's latest star, has been selected as the Castrol junior-cricketer-of-the-year. The award carries Rs 50,000 cash.Yuvraj was picked from a group of other youngsters including Gujarat's Niraj Patel, Uttar Pradesh's Shalabh Srivastava and two Punjabis Reetinder singh Sodhi as well as Ravneet Ricky.Yuvraj made news in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Trophy at Nairobi with match winning knocks against South Africa and Australia though in the recent series against Zimbabwe he is struggling. The winner was selected by a panel comprising former senior coach Anshuman Gaekwad, junior coach Roger Binny and sports journalist Pradeep Vijaykar. The four losers will receive Rs 25,000 each. UNI
