New Delhi: Former BCCI President Madhavrao Scindia said cricket has suffered a lot in the light of match-fixing scandal, but hoped that the willow game would regain its pristine glory. ''The investigating agencies are doing their job, but let cricket follow its own way with all its emotion, joy, thrill and passion to overcome the lean trot,'' Scindia said while releasing a book here on Friday.Releasing ''Millennium's Greatest Indian Cricketers'' written by veteran cricket commentator Ravi Chaturvedi, Scindia said though cricket has been topical for all wrong reasons of late, the book has brought the game back into focus. He said, ''It is an appropriate compilation and a fitting tribute to wonderful players who have contributed to cricket in India, besides an interesting reference to all those who follow Indian cricket with passion.'' On the occasion, former captain and left-arm spinner Bishan Singh Bedi hoped that cricket would be the ultimate winner. The noted commentator said he selected some greatest cricketers in his 163-page book for their pioneering efforts and pivotal role played by them in establishing and giving a new direction to the game in the country.
