New Delhi: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday carried out raids at the premises of Central Production Centre (CPC) of Doordarshan as a follow-up of its raids in premises of top officials of Doordarshan in connection with the alleged bunglings of television rights of tennis and cricket matches. "Sleuths of Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of Delhi branch raided the CPC this morning and seized some documents pertaining to the telecast of some sports programmes," CBI sources said. All sport programmes are beamed from CPC only. However, it was not immediately clear whether CBI had registered a case against any more officials. CBI raided nearly 25 premises on November 13 in connection with the alleged bunglings in the grant of telecast rights. CBI has already registered five criminal cases against K S Sarma, the then Director General of Doordarshan, former Deputy Director General (Sports) K Kunnikrishnan, DDG (Commercial and Sales) Rakesh Bhadur, DDG (Finance) P K Seth, Director (Finance) Sanjeev Dutta and Controller (Sales) Anurag Mishra. Besides these, it registered cases against three private television firms - United Television Network, Stracon and WorldTel.
