Hyderabad: Former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin, who was slapped with a life ban by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is yet to decide on moving court to challenge its decision.Disclosing this to UNI, former Union Law Minister H R Bharadwaj, who has been tendering legal advice to the tainted cricketer in the wake of the match-fixing scandal, said, ''I have been counseling Azharuddin from the time he was named one of the main players involved in fixing matches.''He claimed that Azhar, who was initially reluctant to appear before BCCI's anti-corruption commissioner K Madhavan, relented only after he advised him to do so. Bharadwaj said Azhar sought his opinion after disgraced former South African skipper Hansie Cronje mentioned his name before theKing Commission. Azhar, who is fasting during the month of Ramzan, has made himself incommunicado to the media. However, on Friday, he attended a dinner party hosted at a star hotel in connection with the ''homecoming'' of Miss Asia Pacific Diya Mizra, and also posed for photographs. Bhardwaj said he was unaware if the BCCI had served a notice to the former captain. ''At this point, I have not got any feedback from Azharuddin,'' he added. Meanwhile, BCCI Secretary J Y Lele confirmed to UNI from Baroda that notices had been couriered five days ago to all the tainted cricketers - Mohammad Azharuddin and Ajay Sharma, both banned for life and Ajay Jadeja and former all rounder Manoj Prabhakar, who face a five-year ban. However, he said he did not know if they had received the notices.Asked about the plans of some tainted cricketers to move court challenging the Board's decision, he said, ''It is up to them to do what they want''.Recently, Ajay Jadeja told newspersons in New Delhi that he would go to court challenging the BCCI decision.
