Goyal helps Vijaya retain NIIT trophy

Bangalore: Vijaya College retained the NIIT cricket trophy for the second year in a row when they beat MSRIT by 36 runs on Monday at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.Taking first strike Vijaya College managed 228 in 43.4 overs for the loss of all their wickets. Skipper Mohit Goyal top scored with 67 while Varadaraj and Deepak Chowgule chipped in with 43 and 40 respectively.In reply MSRIT were restricted to 192 for nine in 45 overs. Except for Pallav who made 48 rest of the batsmen failed to come good. B S Kiran and Bharath Kumar picked up two wickets apiece. Mohit Goyal was awarded the most Valuable Player while Aditya Mishra bagged the most promising player.
