Vengsarkar offered to coach Malaysia

Mumbai: Malaysian prince Tunku Imran has offered an informal invitation to former Test star Dilip Vengsarkar for coaching in Malaysia.

Imran, speaking at a function hosted in his honour by Mid-Day group of publication last night at the Turf club, said he was quite impressed in the manner Vengsarkar was conducting the Elf Academy and wished that he could make Malaysia Test worthy in next twenty years.

The prince has already brought his junior team here for friendly matches for the second time under a novel package deal between Malaysia and Squash Racquets Association of Maharashtra (SRAM).

According to SRAM president Khalid Ansari his association invitedMalaysian juniors here for cricket experience, and in return Malaysia plays host to promising Maharashtra squash players.

This year Malaysia has offered a year's scholarship to six junior squash players.
