New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday appealed to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) not to press for permission to the Indian team to play against Pakistan in view of the present status of Indo-Pak relations. Referring to the reports quoting BCCI spokesman that the Cricket tour to Pakistan was "on than off", party Vice President K. Janakrishnamurthy said there was enough time for cricket between the two countries. ''Let the situation between the two countries normalise first.''He said India had initiated several steps to improve relations between the two countries and establish peace but Pakistan had not ''fully responded''. ''Violence is taking place in India. Pakistan should first restore peace in India by stopping cross-border terrorism,'' he said.Mr Krishnamurthy hoped the BCCI would see enough reasons and not send the team to Pakistan. UNI
