City to host first indoor national for men & women

Bangalore: The first National Indoor Cricket Championship will be held at the Sports Authority of India, Southern Centre, here from January 28 to 30.
About 25 teams in men and women's sections are expected to take part in the championship being organised by the Karnataka Indoor Cricket Association, Organising Committee chairman Gangabyraiah told on Friday.
He said each team would have a maximum of eight players and the game would be played on an area of 33 x 93 with net all round and on the top of a rectangular field. A synthesised rubber ball would be used in the tournament.
To a question, he said the format of the championship would be decided later.
