PCA to fight threatened disaffiliation

Chandigarh: Punjab Cricket Association (PCA), who face the threat of disaffiliation from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday finalised their strategy to fight the move, officials said. However, the officials refused to disclose the strategy that the PCA would adopt.The PCA had been served a disaffiliation notice by the disciplinary committee of the Board after association president I S Bindra levelled serious charges of irregularities against the BCCI during the World Cup staged in the sub-continent in 1996. Bindra himself is a former president of the BCCI.The BCCI's Disciplinary Committee is scheduled to meet at Chennai on January 18, when the PCA will present its case, officials said.India Abroad News Service
