Kumble had gone to South Africa to consult Dr Mark Fergusson, who has ruled him out for the next four to six months.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) who received a copy of the doctor's report on Tuesday, stated that Dr Fergusson has advised him rest for another four to six months.
However, the BCCI refused to divulge the details of the medical report, saying that Kumble would be out of cricket for the next four to six months.
