Cricket takes toll: Man killed due to row

Kolkata: A 55-year-old man was killed in a clash between villagers of Omorpur and Kejurhati over a cricket match in Bardhaman district on Tuesday, police said.
The boys of the two villages under Khandokosh police station were playing a cricket match and the trouble started following an altercation over a decision of one the players being given out.
Soon the villagers, who were gathered at the ground, got involved and attacked each other. Tarapada Kharat of Omorpur village, who was severely beaten up during the clash, succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital. Police said 15 people had been arrested in connection with the clash.
