Bangalore: Orissa's Debashish Mohanty, playing for East Zone, created a national record by claiming all 10 first innings wickets of South Zone in the Duleep Trophy inter-zonal championship at the Maharaja Bir Bikram College ground, Agartala on Thursday.South Zone elected to bat on winning the toss and were sent crashing down to 113 all out in their first knock with Mohanty, who has been in and out of the Indian team, doing all the damage. This is the first instance in the Duleep Trophy championship that a bowler is claiming all 10 wickets in an innings.Star batsman and skipper Rahul Dravid was out for a nought caught by Dasgupta. Vijay R Bharadwaj also followed for a duck in a similar fashion, but one ball later, as Mohanty was on fire on a green top wicket.This is the third instance of an Indian cricketer claiming all 10 wickets in the domestic circuit. P Chatterjee of Bengal had taken 10 wickets against Assam in the match played from January 26 to 29, 1957 at Jorhat. Chatterjee analysis reads 19 overs, 11 maidens, 20 runs and 10 wickets.P Sundaram of Rajashtan also had a 10 wicket haul against Vidharbha from November 17 to 19, 1985. Sundaram's spell included 22 overs, five of which were maidens and he conceded 78 runs. Both these players achieved their feat in the Ranji Trophy inter-state championship.In another instance of a 10-wicket run through, Subash Gupte had taken 10 wickets against Pakistan Services Bahwalpur Cricket Association for erstwhile Bombay in 1954.
