Mumbai: World Sports group-Nimbus, the Indian firm with Austrlian connection, on Thursday clarified that the reason for the breakdown in the telecast deal with the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka (BCCSL) was the Lankan board's failure to supply them the information regarding the tours.BCCSL on Wednesday from their head-quarters in Colombo announced thatthe deal was off because the Indian company failed to deposit the guarantee money for the three-year contract. However, Nimbus co-chairman Harish Thawani and senior vice-preisdent Sunil Manocha in a joint statement here denied the BCCSL contention and said that WSG-Nimbus' obligation to BCCSL was conditional upon the latter providing confirmation from the relevant national cricket Boards of the itinerary of cricket tours to take place in Sri Lanka during the term of agreement. This confirmation has not been forthcoming to date and if fulfilled then their company was ready and willing to move forward with other conditions of the contract, they added. They said the contract between them and BCCSL was confidential and cannot be divulged but they still emphasised that the reports of company's financial non-performance were not true.UNI
