Mumbai: The high cost of accommodation has forced hosts University of Mumbai to hold the Inter-zonal universities cricket tournament for the Vizzy Trophy to obscure places like Nerul in Thane district and Nagothane in Raigadh district. The tournament beginning from February 2 to 4 will have two semi-finals between North Zone and East Zone and West Zone and South Zone.Mumbai, which once boasted of having 64 of its players graduating to play Tests has only one player in the West Zone team.Mumbai University vice chancellor Dr Bhalchandra Mungekar is planning to change the face of college cricket by starting a multi-purpose stadium in Kalina in north-west Mumbai.He told newsmen here that the Vizzy trophy was being held as a part of 100 years celebrations of the institution.
