Panaji: Star-studded South Zone led by Rahul Dravid will clash against Amay Khurasia-led strong Central Zone in their last four-day Duleep Trophy league cricket championship match to be played at the gymkhana ground from Thursday. As North Zone have already retained the championship finishing their league engagement with 23 points, the competition in the championship remains only for the runners-up place among the four teams east zone with 13 points, followed by central zone 11 points, west zone nine points and south zone with eight points. A confident looking Central Zone are in buoyant mood having drawn all their three matches so far and being placed third. Their manager Rajinder Singh Hans said his side is a well balanced with Jaypraksh Yadav, Mohammed Kaif, skipper Khurasia and Yeregoud having performed well in the earlier matches. The curator of the pitch Chandrakant Naik said the wicket is a batsmen's paradise and it might also aid quick bowlers. Though South Zone are placed at the bottom with eight points, they looks powerful on paper with as many as nine players having chosen for the Indian probables camp announced on Monday for the selection of the India team to play against Australia in India.
