Islamabad: Pakistan captain Moin Khan finds himself in the midst of uncertainty as media reports on Thursday said that trouble was brewing for the skipper over his latest tussle with coach Miandad with regards to the sharing of logo money, which may result in Moin contemplating resignation.
Khan's surprise omission from the list of probables selected by the Board to play a practice match against Karachi team on Wednesday had the media speculating over the future of Moin's captaincy. Further, Moin Khan has also been dropped from the remaining two games, leading the media here to suspect trouble for him. Inzamam ul-Haq and former captain Wasim Akram have been appointed as captains to lead the probables for the remaining two matches.
The reason for the heated atmosphere is said to be the row over the payment of logo money to coach Miandad, arising out of the Pepsi deal, according to reports appearing in 'The Nation' on Thursday.
Moin had earlier received the support of almost all his senior players over the same issue, which had erupted a year ago.
The issue at stake was that Moin Khan and almost all the senior players of the team were averse to sharing the logo money with Miandad. The money, roughly amounting to over Rs one million for each player, was given for displaying the Pepsi logo.
