Bhuj: The calamitous earthquake left hundreds of orphaned children in the Kutch region of Gujarat and cricketer Ajay Jadeja has pledged to shore up their battered lot.Accompanied by his uncle, Jadeja came here with chocolates and other articles for the orphaned kids. ''I want to do something for the children,'' the player said.He plans to use his relations with celebrities from various fields to organise fund-raising events in aid of the relief works in his state of origin. Jadeja's ancestral house in Jamnagar also suffered damage in the January 26 quake.Jadeja, who was banned for five years by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in the wake of the Central Bureau of Investigation report on match-fixing, suggested that cricketers should play fund-raising matches within the country for rehabilitation of thousands of quake victims.
