Dhaka: Bangladesh will play 36 Tests and 54 One-day Internationals during the next five years with plans to visit New Zealand and Zimbabwe this year, a senior cricket official said on Saturday.Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Saber Hossain Chowdhury said work was underway to ensure a good performance by the home team, the newest member of the exclusive Test cricket club."We have chalked out plans to play Tests and One-dayers with the other Test playing countries, who would also visit Bangladesh," Chowdhury said before leaving for Melbourne.He said Pakistan was likely to tour Bangladesh in January 2002 for a two- Test series and three One-dayers. He said Bangladesh would tour Zimbabwe in October and New Zealand at the end of this 2001. Zimbabwe was expected in Dhaka in 2001.Meanwhile, the BCB was pursuing a match with an Asia XI team to mark Bangladesh's Independence Day on March 26.Copyright AFP 2000
